Video: Voyage to the edge of space

Watch what happens when DiscoverE summer campers tie a GoPro camera to a weather balloon and launch it into the stratosphere.

Watch the amazing footage captured from a weather balloon that DiscoverE's Space Voyage Camp launched into the atmosphere last week. After the balloon ascends about 30 kilometres into the sky, it expands and bursts before free-falling back to the ground.

DiscoverE's week-long summer camps run until the end of August, giving kids and teens in grades 1 to 12 a glimpse of the possibilities in science, technology and engineering that await them at the University of Alberta.
